Made from real butterfly wings - the Common Bluebottle or Blue Triangle butterfly, Graphium sarpedon. The pendant is reversible and only framed in metal so you can view both the front and back of the wing (see images). Moths & butterflies are beautiful creatures symbolizing peace, metamorphosis and eternal life. These unusual pieces of jewelry make unique gifts and are a great conversation piece.
The wings used in these pendants were salvaged from butterflies that died of natural causes on a butterfly farm. As such, the wings in the pendants are far from perfect, but I hate seeing such lovely creatures wasted. If you choose, you can give this butterfly a new home and new purpose.
