Kentucky Horn Coral Fossil Necklaces
Real fossils! Each one is unique. Fossils are artistically wrapped in silver-tone wire.
A wonderful friend of mine in Kentucky collected these fossils. Most of Kentucky's fossils are very ancient, and many are older than the dinosaurs. Fossils are the same age as the sedimentary rocks that contain them, and the sedimentary rocks at Kentucky's surface range from 285 to 505 million years old: 505 to 438 mya (Ordovician Period), 438 to 408 mya (Silurian Period), 408 to 360 mya (Devonian Period), 360 to 320 mya (Mississippian Period), and 320 to 285 mya (Pennsylvanian Period).
